Site Audit
The website audit identified various SEO issues:
- Slow load speed
- Mobile responsiveness issues
- URL and page title optimization needs
- Missing meta description
- Low-quality backlinks
Some of the recommendations involve:
- Optimizing load speed through image size reduction and plugin usage
- Ensuring mobile responsiveness by using some code
- Optimizing URLs and page titles
- Enchanting meta description
A detailed breakdown below.
Technical Problems
HTTPS vs HTTP – To check this I went to the website and removed the s from https and the www. Not only on the home page but on the inner pages as well.
In NoLimitBikess case all versions redirect to https//:www which is ideal because there is a slight ranking boost.
XML Sitemap – I typed /sitemap.xml after the website name, NoLimitBikes has a sitemap.
Load speed – To check the speed I used GTmetrix, the optimal load speed being under 3s. Three tests were performed and the numbers were added and subtracted by 3.
1st test 6.3
2nd test 6.2
3rd test 5.7
Average 6 seconds (ideal being under 3 seconds)
Mobile responsive – To check if the website is mobile-friendly I went to https://search.google.com/test/mobile-friendly, also I opened the website in Google Chrome and clicked inspect which shows how the website would look from a mobile device, and the final step I opened the website from my phone.
As you can see in the pictures there is white space on the right side of the website. I will discuss the solution in the recommendations.
On-Page SEO
URLs
- I entered the website name in the bar and started crawling
- After the crawl was complete I went to the tab “URL”
- Then I exported the data to Excel, so I can review it
- Once I have the file I put a filter on it to see only pages that are “text/html; charset=UTF-8”
- To see the 404s & 301s I went to row status code and ticket 301
As of today, NoLimitBikes has 2 301 pages and 0 404s.
Page Title
- Let the site crawl
- Go to the tabs and select Page Titles
- Export the file to Excell
Once I have the file in Excel I can see all of the information URL, page title, and length, and by using filters I can see specific information like page titles above 60 characters or below.
32 pages have a title tag of over 60 characters, so they need to be shortened.
11 title tags are below 60 characters, a little more can be added to them.
Meta Description
- Crawl site on ScreamingFrog
- Select Meta Description on the Tabs
- Export file to Excel
44 pages don’t have a meta description
1 page has a meta description
Heading tags (H1 & H2’s)
- Export Page titles, H1s, and H2s
- Bring them together in one Excel.
Duplicate Content
- Crawl the website
- Go to the “Content” Tab
- Go to the “Overview” Tab
Exact duplicates and near duplicates are 0%.
Thin Content
- Crawl the site
- Go to the “Content” Tab
- We can sort them by lowest to highest
There are 19 pages below 350 words.
ALT Attributes – 21 out of 25 images are missing Alt Attributes
Off-Page SEO
Backlink profile – I analyzed the backlink profile by using MozBar and SEMRush, the ideal being a domain authority of 20+, that’s a good indication that the website has had some decent SEO implemented on it.
The second thing is referring domains, I analyzed them by using SEMRush, the ideal being at least 50+ referring domains.
What I found is 516 backlinks from 256 referring domains, the backlinks were low-quality with a domain authority and page authority of below 25.
General Problems
Analyzing organic traffic – the reason we want to analyze the organic traffic is if we see our organic traffic dip suddenly it might mean we have been penalised by Google. The two options for analyzing the organic traffic are Google Analytics and SEMRush, since I didn’t have access to his Google Analytics I used SEMRush.
I took a look at the organic traffic since the website was launched and everything seems consistent nothing to worry about. Bellow I’ve written the organic traffic for the last 3 months.
April – 539
May – 698
June – 400

Recomendations
1. Load speed
reduce image size (by installing EWWWW Optimizer)
install the plugin – Autoptimize – optimize java and CSS files.
use a catch plugin (WP Super Cache)
reduce HTTP requests (currently 84-93 requests)
2. Mobile responsive
As mentioned above the website has white space on the right side of the screen, the owner told me the website is built on WordPress. The solution is simple, just need to copy and paste some code.
Step by step:
Go to the WordPress dashboard
Go to Appearance
Go to Customize
Go to Additional CSS
Copy and paste the code below
@media only screen and (max-width: 768px){ html, body{ width:100%; overflow-x:hidden; } }
There were also some elements in the website that were not scaling correctly on mobile so I advised him to change everything on his website from pixel to VW, VH, EM, or %.
